In this life, we have to continually be throwing ourselves into the deep end and teaching ourselves how to swim while our lungs are filling with water and the weight presses heavy against our chest.
If you are not consistently taking risks, if you are not tearing the fear from your bones - growth cannot take place.
You can hide under the blankets of self doubt, fear, anxiety, comfort, consistency or trade it for explosions of life.
Trade it for change.
Trade it for growth.
You are the only one to blame for stagnancy.
Everything you need, all the things you want to become are already right there, inside of you.
Stare at your reflection in the mirror and ask yourself, what makes you feel alive?
Then, go do that.
People will either look at you like you belong in an insane asylum, or they will look at you like a hero.
Let them look.
Let their eyes pierce through all that you are, all that you have left behind, all that you have yet to become.
Let them love.
Let them hate.
Let them think what they are going to think.
This is your life. Not theirs, not anyone else’s.
You have got one shot at this, and it don’t last as long as they say it does.
You do not need me to tell you how to live.
How to edit.
How to write.
How to draw.
How to climb the mountain within you.
You already know what makes you feel alive.
You want to photograph? Photograph.
You want to paint? Paint.
You want to write? Write.
You want to travel? Lace up those boots and hit the road.
You want to love? Love with every inch of your bloody heart. Then love beyond your conceivable capability because the world sure as hell needs it.
You want to kiss someone? Kiss them so hard they forget their own name and your breathing melts into one singular breath.
The road will not be straight. It will be swallowed up by cracks. It will curve and it will be covered in dirt, dust, ash, snow.
It will be lined with overgrown pine trees that let the speckled sunlight through one minute, and it will welcome a blizzard the next minute.
It will change the further you go, but keep going and you will see the grandeur of becoming.
I don’t know everything, but I sure as hell know this much.
It always continues, and when it doesn't
seek within you to venture onward.
